The History of the Rosebrook Inn

Rosebrook Inn, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, was once the historic Church of the Brethren
Industrial School. The school opened on January 2, 1923 with an enrollmentof 98 students. In the
mid 1930's the United States Government purchased the property and used it as a resettlement camp
for some of the 600 families relocated when the Shenandoah National Park was created. The property
is now privately owned and the original schoolhouse has been remodeled into a unique bed and breakfast
with grounds that are landscaped with perennials and annuals in constant bloom from spring through fall.
